2008 November 20, 2007 President George W. Bush and Commerce Secretary Carlos M. Gutierrez today announced five organizations as recipients of the 2007 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award, the nation's highest Presidential honor for organizational performance excellence. For the first time in the history of the Baldrige Award, nonprofit organizations have been selected. The 2007 Baldrige Award recipients —listed with their category—are:
September 19, 2007 The Panel of Judges selected a total of 14 applicants to receive site visits. The group is composed of two small business, four nonprofit, one education, and seven health care organizations.
There are a total of 84 Baldrige Award applications this year, with the Award category breakdown as follows: Manufacturing (2); Service (4); Small Business (7); Health Care (42); Education (16); and Nonprofit (13). For additional information, please read the NIST Tech Beat news item.
